Electroweak Processes of the Deuteron in Effective Field Theory
We review our recent calculations of electroweak processes involving the deuteron, based on pionless effective field theory with dibaryon fields. These calculations are concerned with neutron-neutron fusion and np → dγ at BBN energies.

متن کاملEFT* for electroweak processes of light nuclei
Recently we succeeded to make a reliable EFT prediction in a totally parameter-free manner for the S factors for the solar pp and hep processes, p + p → d + e + νe and He+ p → He+ e+ νe[1]. The strategy used in there is to embed a highly sophisticated standard nuclear physics approach (SNPA) exploiting realistic potentials[2,3] into an EFT framework, that we refer to as EFT∗. Up to next-next-to...
متن کاملAstrophysical Weak-interaction Processes and Nuclear Effective Field Theory
Low-energy nuclear weak-interaction processes play important roles in many astrophysical contexts, and effective field theory is believed to be a highly useful framework for describing these processes in a model-independent manner. I present a brief account of the basic features of the nuclear effective theory approach, and some examples of actual calculations carried out in this method. Invite...

Here, I ≥ I0 denotes the angular momentum, A is a constant determined by fit to data, and I0 is the spin of the band head under consideration. Rotational states are the lowestlying excitations in nuclei far away from closed shells. Our understanding of nuclear rotations is based on the groundbreaking work by Bohr and Mottelson [1], its extension within the general collective model [2], and the ...
